Matt Adegboye, DO

Growing up, my focus was entirely on becoming a doctor. I worked hard, got into medical school, and I'm now practicing as a Hospitalist and I wouldn't change any of it.

But somewhere along the way, nobody taught me about money. Not in school, not in residency, not anywhere. When I finally became an attending and started earning a real income, I had no idea what to do with it.

Early in my career, I was taken advantage of by insurance salesmen posing as financial advisors. It cost me and it opened my eyes to how easily young healthcare professionals get misled by people who are supposed to help them.

That experience pushed me to learn everything I could. Books, podcasts, videos and I immersed myself until I understood how money actually works, and until I knew when to trust an expert and when to trust myself.

Now I coach residents, nurses, pharmacists, PAs, PTs, and new attendings to do the same. Not to manage their money for them, but to give them the knowledge and confidence to make smart decisions on their own, so they can focus on caring for patients without the weight of financial stress hanging over them.
